In order to use this site do I need to create an account and be signed in? To view any unlisted, or public pastes you do not need to have an account or be signed in. You also need an account in order to create any pastes, or make any changes and save them to your account.

What is the difference between paste and fork? Paste means to create new or edit an existing paste under your account. Fork means to copy the paste whether it is in your account or from someone else’s public or unlisted paste to save it as a new copy under your account while not affecting the original copy.

Why isn’t a paste available? The author may have deleted it or it may have expired or in some cases the offer has created the pace to only be accessible once. Once a paste has been deleted it cannot be retrieved all deletions are final. If you are concerned about a paste not being available for later consider signing up in forking the paste so you have a copy under your account and be sure to change the expiration date to never.

Another reason why a piece may not be available is that the privacy setting was changed from public, unlisted to private which means only the author has access to it unfortunately that case there is no way to view someone else is paste if it is private.

What are the different prices settings for my paste?

  • Public means anyone can view your paste whether they are signed in or signed out.
  • Unlisted means generally speaking that it will not appear on the site.
  • Private means only you have access to that paste nobody else does.
  • You can make a paste unlisted which will not require someone to have an account in order to access your paste and you can require them to simply enter a password.

Can I change your privacy settings at any time? Yes, if you created a paste and you accidentally made it public or unlisted simply access your paste, change the privacy settings from public or unlisted to private then click on paste again to save the changes.

At the top of the page moving left to right what does those things mean?

  • Under the title of the site that says “paste“ will show you what type it is classified under.
  • Next will show you how many people viewed this particular past.
  • Still at the top of the page slightly toward the center the first icon is copy to clipboard followed by view as text file, followed download the paste, embed, last is the arrows pointing toward the corners is the view the paste at full screen.
